Klaus (Nakschinski) Kinski - made a psycho in Europe - made a star in the U.S.

America: The Land of possibilities, chances and choices.  Klaus Kinski (german born under the name Klaus Nakschinski) who passe away about 17 years ago lived for the most part of his life in the U.S., together with his daughter who also became a movie celebrity in the U.S..

Today´s edition of a german newspaper releases information from a file dating back to the 1950ies: Klaus Kinski, then aged 24, was classified a psycho, schizophrenic, not curable. That diagnosis was made shortly before Klaus Kinski began his career as an actor, first in post-war Germany, later in the U.S..

What does it tell?  Well, especially when looking at the german medical system and its methods during WWII / the 3rd Reich it makes you wonna run from germany as fast as possible.  Or, it could be translated into: set yourself free, run for personal freedom and your mind will heal.   As an actor, I feel he was good - maybe a genius. Thanks to the U.S. for making a home for him.
