Much to the surprise of many people outside the U.S. was the appearance of George W Bush on televison yesterday night. All of a sudden people had to realize that Obama is not yet the president of the United States, that he is not even elected yet and that there is still somebody else presiding over the politics and economics in the United States. It was sort of that with all the fuzz around Hillary Clinton, Obama and McCaine the public got to forget about Georg W. Bush.
However, when looking at French, British and German newspapers today it is that U.S. topics are dominating. Only thing is that the face changed. It is now Obamas face. And it is like there is a mutual agreement that this face belongs to the president of America. Can´t recall such a media trouble around McCaine when he travelled Europe - actually can´t even recall that he did so in the past months.
Does it amount up to that the world around the U.S. has already done the presidential election. And the U.S. citizens follow the (foreign-) public view?
